After 14 years operating as a four-bedroom guest house, Riad 72 is expanding.  In just a few short months we’ll have an additional two bedrooms and one suite bringing the total rooms to seven.

Since purchasing the building next door, we have been busy working on architectural plans, knocking down and rebuilding walls, laying new floors, removing old tiling, installing the electrics and plumbing, fireplaces and central heating/air-conditioning.

You see, when we purchased the building, it wasn’t exactly fit for a King.  Or anyone for that matter.

And local tradesmen and maalems (master craftsmen) have completed the work manually.

And though you may not believe us, we’re nearly there.  After all, the expected opening date is just a couple months away.  In fact, our expanded terrace is ready for relaxing and soaking up the sun.

So while the tradesmen and craftsmen are hard at work, we’re busy working on the interior design, having each piece custom made and ordered, with most items purchased locally from some of our favourite designers in both the souks and the industrial zone of Sidi Ghanem.
