It’s been a busy month here at Riad 72 as we have hosted a few parties in between a photo shoots in the riad.

With Riad 72 now housing seven rooms, we are able to accommodate up to 18 people within the riad and host parties for up to 35 guests. And that’s just what we’ve been doing.

We were delighted to be part of the surprise birthday party for a guest of honour from Switzerland. The planning began months in advance. Since it was a milestone birthday with guests flying in from around the world, we couldn’t skip one detail, while keeping the weekend’s festivities a surprise.

After the guest of honour tucked in to bed after a day of travel, we organized the arrival guests who flew in for the occasion ready for a surprise and celebration.

It wasn’t until lunchtime the next day that our guest of honour decided it was time to head out to lunch.  Telling him that the main staircase was closed for cleaning, we rerouted him to pass via the rooftop terrace.  Little did he know his friends were waiting for him upstairs to enjoy lunch with a view.  And what a surprise it was!    Lunch lasted three hours and involved many laughs which continued throughout the weekend.

Then it was time for the main event – a fancy-dress birthday party, Moroccan style.

Organized by our on-site team, we coordinated traditional Moroccan outfits for all guests, a customized menu including BBQ lamb, and a singing of happy birthday including belly dancers, Andalusian musicians and a birthday cake to mark the occasion.   We won’t say what time the guests went to bed, but we’re sure the guests had a memorable night!

We were sad to see the guests leave, but hope the weekend marked the start of a great decade for our guest of honour.

Event requests can also be accommodated at Riad Due, located just 10 minutes from Riad 72.  Or for larger group, both riads can be privatized to accommodate up to 26 guests comfortably.
